Samsung Galaxy S8 is Here to Blow Your Mind (not literally)

,

I think eventually everyone will forget about the Note 7 Tragedy. I mean, just look at this New S8 and S8+ Samsung has just announced.

The Korean company announced their newest flagship on 29 March at New York. And as you might expect, (mostly) all the rumors are true. It's a 5.8 inch for the S8 and 6.2 inch for the S8 plus, Quad HD, 18.5:9 ratio, curved, edge-to-edge display that's just look stunning.

But the specs are just like any other top-tier phone. You'll get either Snapdragon 835 (which is somehow rare) for US market, or Samsung's own Exynos Octa-core processor. As usual, you'll get 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of onboard storage, which is expandable.

What's new is that now Samsung moves to onscreen button, because they need to stretch the screen from bottom to top. The result is a cleaner design, which looks like a phone from sci-fi movies. It also uses some kind of haptic feedback like Apple, to create a virtual feeling of pressing the button. Neat.

Also new, is the Introduction of Bixby, their new Virtual Assistant. In the demo, It can do things like rotate a photo, play a video and many more. They even dedicated a physical button to activate Bixby, means that they wanted people to use it, badly.

Something that is not new is S8's rear camera. It uses the same module and sensors on S7, but Samsung promises a better, faster camera with tweaked software. Kind of shame, especially Dual-camera phones are now everywhere, and Samsung that doesn't even try to compete against the Pixel, which is, so far, the best Android phone camera. The front camera is bumped up to 8 megapixel with autofocus.

Preorder begins March 30th, and the release date on 21st April. No news on pricing just yet, but estimated to start at around $720 or IDR 9.600.000.

So, Indonesian reader, this phone, or the 7 months old iPhone 7?
