iOS 10.3 Minor Update is Actually Quite Important, Especially For Apple

Image
Apple rolling out the iOS 10.3 Update today, introducing a new find my Airpods, and some tweaks on CarPlay, and many under the hood updates. It's all quite minor, but there are few important things to notice. The iOS 10.3 is moving supported devices to Apple's brand new File system, APFS (Apple File System), Replacing the 31-years-old HFS, that was design for floppy or hard disk. APFS now optimizes the SSD and flash storage. Sounds kind of nerdy right? For short, It boosted your phone storage, because the APFS optimize the use of storage. New Apple ID section (iDownloadBlog) Other than that, now when you open up the setting, you'll be presented with a new Apple ID section, where all your iCloud, App Store, Family Sharing and Find My iPhone setting in one place. Which is convenient.

These Could Be The Real Reasons Why Apple Ditch The Headphone Jack on iPhone 7

Image
Apple's bold decision to remove the headphone jack on iPhone 7 is a controversial move made by the Cupertino company. Moreover, the headphone jack is still widely use on every phone in this godforsaken universe. Apple said that It is the time of wireless, and they're bragging on how brave they are to start the trend. But Apple's move is likely more about business rather than creating an evolution. According to JerryRigEverything on his youtube channel, here are the reasons why Apple remove the jack. 1. Forces every accessories manufacturer to use Lightning ports. EarPods with Lightning Cable now is the standard headset on iPhone 7 (macworld) According to Jerry, every time someone makes a lighting accessories, whether it is a cable, a dock, a speaker etc, They have to pay Apple a certain amount of money, whereas 3.5mm jack port is not own by Apple. So by removing the jack port, manufacturers' only port option is Lightning. Also, compare to other proprieta...

Huawei P10 Lite is The Half Prize, Half Spec P10

Image
If you find it hard to spend 650 Euros for Huawei P10, then probably you can go for the 300 Euros P10 Lite. It has 5.2 inch Full HD IPS display with very thin bezel, using Huawei's own Kirin 658 Chipset, rather than 960 found on P10 and P10 Plus. Fortunately, it has 4 GB of RAM. Despite the similarity of the name, P10 Lite feels similar to P9/P8 Lite. But it has the new blue color from P10, but the build quality on this phone is amazing with glass and metal. Also that thin bezel is just nice. The 12 Megapixel Shooter is also good for phone at this prize. You can check the comparison of P10 and P10 Lite photos on Android Authority.  But The P10 Lite is more expensive than the P9/P8 Lite, making it closer to the more better spec phones, like OnePlus 3T. We'll see how it goes toe-to-toe with the 3T. No dates on launch in Indonesia just yet, but this phone is more likely to go to Indonesia, rather than It's bigger sibling. But why not bring them both?

Early 2017 Recomended Phones You Should Get In Indonesia

Image
Early 2017 is not actually a very good time for you to buy new phones, since the new ones will be launced mid to late 2017. But there are some phones that, in my personal opinion, is a good deal for you who wants to change smartphone. Here are the list, in no particular order. 1. Samsung Galaxy J5 Prime It's not the best in its price range, but it is the most balance. You get proper spec, with good build quality. And Samsung service centre is all over Indonesia, This is a good phone for most people, and at around Rp 2.500.000, It's a good deal. 2. Xiaomi Mi4s If you're looking for a more beautiful phone than J5 Prime, but still affordable, then Mi4S is the one for you. On paper it is much better than J5 Prime. A bit expensive to, at around Rp 3.000.000. But the lack of official Xiaomi Service Center might be an issue for this phone one day. But still, It's a beautiful and powerful phone, making it a good deal. 3. OnePlus 3T A ...

Oppo's new "Selfie Expert" is a dual front-facing Camera Smartphone

Image
I'm always skeptical to Oppo's Smartphone lineup. Their Design is too "iPhone". And their customized Android OS is just ugly. And recently, they just launched a new "Selfie Expert" Smartphone. And It is still look like a damn iPhone It is called the F3 Plus, and yes, It is a selfie monster. It has 2 (yes two) front-facing camera, with 16 and 8 MP resolution. It's also wide angle. And the best (or worst) thing, is that, it has what Oppo called as Beauty 4.0. It is essentially a  software that make your ugly face slightly better. Spec wise, It's not really bang for the buck. It only has Snapdragonn 653 processor, 4 GB of RAM, and a huge 6.0 inch Full HD IPS display. Almost forgot, the rear camera is 16MP shooter with F/1.7 and image stabilization. F3 Plus will available on April 2017, alongside a smaller 5.5 normal F3. The prize will be Rp 6.500.000, and will be available in Black and Gold. I'm a bit skeptical about this phone, ...

The Best Smartphone You've Never Heard Of

Image
Indonesia's smartphone market is mostly dominated by Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo and Apple. In which Samsung and Apple on High-end Tier, Oppo mostly on Medium-end and Xiaomi on Low-end. But most people don't know (or don't care) that there is a smartphone, with the same specs as Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, but with half the price. This is it, The OnePlus 3T The phone itself is all-aluminium, with 5.5 Full HD LCD Screen, Snapdraggon 821 with 6GB of RAM, 16MP Camera and A very lightweight version of Android 7.0, called Oxygen OS. It comes in 2 Colour, Gold and Gunmetal Black. But soon will come in Extremely doff black. Yes, Its LCD screen may not be as good as Samsung AMOLED curved screen, and yes the camera on Samsung S7 is slightly better. The RED iPhone You've Been Waiting For (Gallery)

Image
Apple finally launch its long-rumored iPhone 7 and 7 Plus (PRODUCT)RED. And It looks damn awesome. It's A doff Red, with (unfortunately) Silver Apple logo and white screen borders. Other than that, everything remains the same. You won't find any red EarPod or charger in the box. But the box is amazingly beautiful with red accents. "The Red is Just Awesome" Apple's move on the release of Red version of iPhone 7 will surely boost its already amazing sales. Right now, iPhone 7 is Apple's most successful iPhone in terms of selling. And the best selling smartphone in late 2016 and early 2017. I bet many people who've already bought iPhone 7 will swap for the Red one.
